This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, stored and protected when you use this website or buy from us. We are committed to handling your information lawfully and transparently, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

For the purposes of POPIA, SkillRise Careers (Pty) Ltd is the “responsible party” for the personal information described in this policy.

2. The information we collect

We only collect information we actually need:

• When you contact us — your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it) and the content of your message.
• When you buy a product — your name and email address, and the details of your order. Your payment is processed securely by PayFast; we never see or store your card or banking login details.
• If you join the affiliate programme — your name, email address and the South African bank account details you provide so that we can pay your commission.
• Automatically — basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, and a referral cookie (see section 7) if you arrive through an affiliate link.

3. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• To process your purchase and deliver the product you bought.
• To run the affiliate programme — attributing referrals and paying commissions.
• To send you transactional emails (for example, your order confirmation and the guide you purchased).
• To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We process your information on the lawful bases of performing our contract with you, complying with the law, and our legitimate interest in running the business honestly. We do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your consent.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to provide our service:

• PayFast — our payment processor, to take payment securely.
• Our email and hosting providers — to send you emails and operate the website.
• Where the law requires it — for example, to SARS or a competent authority.

These parties are only permitted to use your information to perform their service for us.

5. How we protect and keep your information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by South African law (for example, tax and financial records are kept for the periods set out in the relevant legislation). After that it is securely deleted.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy.
• Ask us to correct or update information that is wrong or out of date.
• Ask us to delete your information where we are not required to keep it.
• Object to certain processing of your information.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

7. Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies. If you arrive through an affiliate referral link, we store a small cookie for up to 30 days so that the correct affiliate is credited if you purchase. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work.

8. Children

Our products are intended for adults (18 and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
