SMART-Restart exists because of what we got tired of seeing in the online business space: countdown timers that reset when you refresh the page, income screenshots that don't show the costs, 'limited availability' on digital products that can be duplicated infinitely, and email sequences engineered to manufacture anxiety before you'll ever see a price.

We don't do any of that.

We show the price upfront

No drip reveals, no 'register to find out'. You see the price before you see the pitch.

We don't manufacture urgency

If something is time-limited, it's because it genuinely is. We'll say why.

We don't do fake social proof

No screenshots of earnings we can't verify. No testimonials we wrote ourselves.

We don't use guilt as a hook

You don't owe us anything for reading this page, opening our email, or following us online.

We trust you to decide

You're an adult. If something's right for you, you'll buy it. Our job is to give you the information, not engineer the decision.

I'm Ilonka Botha, the person behind SMART-Restart. I'm based in Pretoria and I run several digital ventures — this brand, ReaderScribe (an exam accommodation platform for SA schools), and SkillRise Careers (an AI-powered recruitment platform for South African employers).

Why SMART-Restart

SMART-Restart started as a professional development brand and evolved into something more specific: a home for the tools and consulting work I do around AI adoption and digital income — grounded in the South African market and its particular realities. Power interruptions. PayFast. WhatsApp as a legitimate business channel. Buyers who have been burned before and want to see the price before they hear the pitch.

The longer version

I've worked in and around HR, learning and development, and digital business for years. The shift to AI tools changed how I work. I want to help other South Africans navigate that shift honestly — without the hype, without the MLM energy, and without pretending it's simpler than it is.
